The National Agriculture Census continues with additional enumerators in an effort to speed up the process.
According to the ministry of agriculture, the initiative is a collaborative effort with the Central Statistical Office, seeking to acquire comprehensive data that highlights the status of Grenada’s Agricultural Sector. It’s expected to conclude next month.
Census Coordinator, Laverne Mapp, indicated that Enumerators across the tri-island will be back in the field.
The National census is said to be the first in over a decade.
Mapp noted that the census will assist in assessing the agricultural sector, while identifying critical areas and collecting important information that will be used to help develop plans, policies and initiatives that are expected to be drafted.
According to Mapp, it’s also expected to improve the lives and livelihoods of farmers who depend on the sector.
