World Social Work Day is celebrated on the third Tuesday in March, with events usually being organized throughout the month.
The theme for the occasion this year is “Buen Vivir: (Good Living) a Shared Future for Transformative Change.”
In a statement on the occasion, Minister for Social and Community Development, Gloria Thomas, looked at the theme with emphasis on the good living idea.
Senator Thomas stands in the corner of the Nation’s social workers, their dedication and compassion and celebrating their profound impact on the lives of people.
The Social Development Minister highlights a shift away from building of societies that prioritize values, principles and harmonious community relationships through caring for each other and the environment.
