The rebranded Royalton Grenada Hotel, located on the site of what was the Grenadian by Rex Resort, is due to open its doors in December.
This is among pronouncements made between high level officials of the property and Grenadian Leader, Dr. Keith Mitchell.
Wee FM News understands that plans for construction under the rebranded format have been reviewed and actual work in this phase gets underway this month, which will accommodate some 450 persons on the job.
When complete, the Hotel is expected to directly employ some 400 workers.
The new majority shareholder of the Hotel is Sunwing Travel Group.
Recently, officials of Sunwing held audience with Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell.
Executive Vice President, Daniel Diaz, was high in praise as it relates to the professionalism and accuracy of local planners engaged in the project.
Royalton Grenada will include 59 new rooms, bringing the property total to 271.
There’s been talk about training opportunities associated with the hotel, to which Dr. Mitchell welcomed the potential for capacity building in tourism and hospitality arts.
