Forecasters Looking At New Weather System Likely To Dump Showery Activity On Grenada Weekend

Forecasters here are monitoring a new tropical wave likely to cause effect to the Windward Islands by week-end.

A report shows a tropical wave located about 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles continuing to produce disorganized cloudiness and showers.

Some development of the system is possible while it approaches the Windward Islands this weekend, or when it moves across the eastern Caribbean Sea early next week.

It has a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours and a 30% chance within the next 5 days.

The Met Office here continues to closely monitor the development of this system as it has the potential to bring showery activity and flooding to Grenada over the weekend.
