We have reports of a fire in Carriacou today which completely gutted a dwelling house.
Firemen are said to have arrived on the scene at Six Roads in quick time, after receiving the distress call.
The fire occurred at around a quarter past nine this morning.
On their arrival at the scene, the 18 x 18 wooden structure, valued at around 80,000 EC dollars, was totally engulfed in flames.
The crew, along with assistance from officers attached to the Carriacou Police Station, feverishly extinguished the fire.
Some 700 gallons of water were used in the process.
The two occupants of the house were not at home at the time of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Investigations are continuing.
