Grenada Police have confirmed that criminal charges have been slapped on Government Minister, Winston Garraway, arising out of an incident in September surrounding journalist Calistra Farrier.
Police have slapped assault charges on him and said he has not yet been summoned.
The incident stems from a fracas, following a government Post Cabinet Briefing on September 10, 2019, where Farrier claimed the Minister had assaulted her and subsequently lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Garraway, who attended the Briefing, was at the time the Minister responsible for the Information portfolio.
He was subsequently relieved of his post as Information Minister, on the 1st of last month, which was then entrusted to Education Minister, Emmalin Pierre.
The matter of Garraway being charged for assault was spotted on social media this afternoon.
Garraway has denied the allegation.
