World Charity Day On Saturday

Grenada is called upon to be kind, generous and charitable, qualities that will display the significance, at least tomorrow, on the internationally-designated World Charity Day.

It was the sentiment expressed by the President of the Senate, Chester Humphrey informing the MP’s in the Upper House of the need to pay homage to those crying out for help.

In so doing, Humphrey noted that Grenada continues to have the privilege benefitting from countries abroad, with special emphasis on Cuban generosity.

He says it’s Cuba’s central philosophy of doing charitable work, which reverberates worldwide, bringing relief to human suffering.

It’s intimated that Cuba is always sympathetic and ready to respond to disastrous situations, especially in poverty-stricken and financially-challenged countries.

The Senate President believes the onus is on citizens here to be aware of the day observance and step-up to the plate and offer generosity and kindness to the impoverished and vulnerable and those among us that need help.
