The man charged with helping to organize Grenada’s National Health Insurance says the time has come when healthcare must be recognized as a business.
Grenadian-born medical consultant, Dr. Kester Nedd Chairman and CEO of the JIPA Network, was yesterday reporting on progress on the future of NHI.
The National Health Insurance is said to be the vehicle to provide individuals and families with necessary health benefits without sacrificing other areas of life or worrying about forcing them back into poverty.
One of its objectives, among others, is to improve health care systems which would lead to a healthier and more productive Grenada.
Dr. Nedd says as part of the NHI initiative they have submitted a proposal whereby visitors will be asked to pay for health services.
He mentioned how this can be done.
