Coroner Rules Shooting Death Lawful

A Coroner has ruled that the fatal shooting of Mt. Parnassus (St. George) resident, Jerry Paul, by police is justified.

The inquest into Paulโ€™s death was presided over by Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill at the St. Georgeโ€™s Magistrate Court.

An impaneled coronerโ€™s jury returned the verdict on Wednesday 2nd May, 2018.

Paul, aged 45, at the time of his death, succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of gunshot wound on Sunday 30th October, 2016. An autopsy report stated he died from hypovolemic shock.
