30 POLICE OFFERS ARE ENGAGED IN A WEEK LONG TRAINING SECESSION ON HANDLING CONFLICTS ON A COMMUNITY LEVEL.

A selected group of officers attached to the Royal Grenada Police Force is engaged in a week- long training in Community Mediation, aimed at helping resolve conflict, as well as enhancing better community policing through various techniques.

It’s hosted by ‘IMPACT Justice’ a Canadian Government project that seeks to Improve Access to Justice in the Caribbean.

The training is being conducted by a number of regional experts, and Burchell James of Jamaica says it has been beneficial in his country in helping to reduce conflicts.

Another trainer who will be engaging officers over the week, O’ Neal Smalls, shares his sentiments on the benefits of mediation as it relates conflict resolution.
