Announcement has been made that constituency funds for elected Members of Parliament to attend to matters surrounding developments of the constituencies they represent are ready, especially as it concerns addressing pressing and miscellaneous needs within constituencies.
It was announced by the ruling administration that as of January 2024, three months ago, all members of the Lower House of Parliament would receive what was termed a “Special Contingent Constituency Allowance of 10,000 EC dollars.
The issue was one that sparked conversation in many quarters as to the disbursement of the monies to the Parliamentary Reps, which prompted the ruling administration to indicate the process was still in train.
The announcement today about the availability of the monies to the Constituency Representatives was made at the sitting of the House of Representatives by the presiding Speaker, Leo Cato.
